The Plant City Police Department has arrested 23-year-old David Gabriel Coleman and charged him with second-degree murder for his involvement in a homicide that occurred overnight Sept. 30, at 1516 Plantation Grove Court, Woodbridge Apartments.
Detectives say the victim, 24-year-old Tiffany April Lamar, of Plant City, died of upper body trauma, after becoming involved in a domestic dispute with Coleman. At least one of the victim’s children was inside the home, when officers arrived to investigate what was initially reported as an aggravated battery.
Officers found the child unharmed and asleep in a bedroom. That child has been turned over to The Department of Children and Families and placed into protective custody, pending the ongoing investigation.
Coleman was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
