UPDATE: State Road 60 wrong-way crash claims second life

Another driver in a fatal May 8 wrong-way crash on State Road 60 has died.

Avimael Hernandez-Sargento, 37, of Lake Worth, died May 12. He was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra the at about 11 p.m. the wrong way near Bugg Road when he collided with a 2004 Mazda RX8 in the westbound, inside lane of State Road 60 driven by Jonathan Molina, 24, of Lakeland. Molina was ejected from his car and died.


Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash.

Luis Aneudis Diaz, 34, of Valrico, was in front of Molina in the westbound, inside lane of State Road 60. Diaz was able to avoid being struck head on after he steered right. Hernandez-Sargento struck the left side of Diaz’s 2004 Mitsubishi Gallant before hitting Molina.

Post impact, Molina rotated and collided with semi truck driven by Ubeline Rivera, 51, of Tampa.

Molina, Hernandez-Sargento and Hernandez-Sargento’s passenger, Omar Hernandez, 26, of Lake Worth, were transported to Tampa General Hospital. Molina died at the hospital.
