Plant City promises numerous holiday programs
When it comes to Plant City, there’s always events to keep the holiday spirit alive during the month of December. Here are various functions that will take place up to Christmas Day – and afterwards.
Christmas Lane
Come and enjoy the spectacle of lights, props, and decorations during Christmas Lane. The holiday event will once again be held at the Charlie Grimes Family Agricultural Center on the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds, 2508 W. Oak Ave, Plant City. It will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night from Dec. 9 to Dec. 12; Dec. 16 to Dec. 24.
Tickets will be $8 for those age 13 and older; $5 for ages 4 to 12; and free for age 3 and under. Tickets will be good for only one night. For more information, visit www.ChristmasLane.com.
White Sands Holiday Open House
This treatment center welcomes all to its holiday celebration, with presentations. It will be on Dec. 10 from noon to 4 p.m. and located at 2011 N. Wheeler St, in Plant City. For more information call 1-877-640-7820.
Christmas Movie Chronicles
This drive-in movie is for those age 60 and up and their grandchildren. It will be located at 307 N. Michigan Ave on Dec. 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Must RSVP. Contact Gerry Randolph at 813-853-2136 or by emailing RandolphG@HillsboroughCounty.org.
Fun with Flowers
The workshop will help participants to create a beautiful Christmas centerpiece with a $25 fee. It will be on Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be located at the Plant City 1914 High School Community Center, 605 N. Collins St., in Plant City. Christmas Banquet
Life Family Church is inviting the public to attend a holiday feast. It will start at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12. and will be located at the church, 600 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in Plant City.
Christmas Light Run
The Plant City Running Club is inviting all to either run or walk downtown Plant City, enjoying the spectacle of lights on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. It will begin at McCall Park, 302 W. Reynolds St., in Plant City.
GracePoint Youth Christmas Party
GracePoint Church will host a party with games, food, and a white elephant gift exchange. It will be located at 1728 Soggy Bottom Trl., in Plant City. It will be held on Dec. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Valley’s End – A Christmas Tradition
Visitors can enjoy worship and Christmas music performed by the Valley’s End band on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will be held at Krazy Kup, at 101 E. J Arden Mays Blvd., in Plant City. For more information, email Community@KrazyKup.com or call (813) 752-1220.
Christmas is Near
This fun-packed event will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. It will be located at the Strawberry Festival Fairgrounds – Wish Farms Sound Stage, at 303 Lemon St., in Plant City. The welcome and kickoff will begin at 5 p.m. and the kids’ zone will run all night. Live performances will be given by Rekindled Bluegrass at 5:30 p.m. and Kenzie Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., guests will hear from the Relevant Church Band and partake in a candlelight service.
Glorious Night
First Baptist Church Plant City lighting event will run between Friday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 2, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be held at First Baptist Church Plant City, 3309 James L. Redman Pkwy., in Plant City.
