Fullerton, Calif. – Tuesday was a historic night for VSI Tampa Bay FC.
The Flames captured their first win in franchise history in USL PRO from a goal by Brazilian midfielder Antonio Neto, outlasting the LA Blues 1-0.
VSI Tampa Bay FC controlled possession for much of the first half of their second USL PRO game, leaving little action for VSI keeper Alex Horwath.
The greatest first-half challenge from the LA Blues side came from a free kick in the 21st minute of play.
The win comes after a season opening loss to Phoenix March 30. VSI Tampa Bay FC looks to close out their three-game road trip against the Portland Timbers Reserves on Sunday, April 7, at 5 p.m. EST.
The Flames open their 2013 home schedule April 13 at Plant City Stadium.
