Beginning at 10 p.m. Sun., Jan. 7, the Florida Department of Transportation’s contractor will close the westbound I-4 ramp to Park Road (Exit 22). This ramp is to reopen before 5 a.m. Mon., Jan. 8, weather permitting.
During this temporary ramp closure, westbound motorists will exit I-4 using Exit 21, proceed south onto SR 39 (Paul Buchman Highway), re-enter the interstate using the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp, and continue east on I-4 toward Park Boulevard (Exit 22).
Electronic message boards and advance warning signs will assist motorists traveling through the area. Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.
This temporary ramp closure is necessary for crews to perform testing of communication components as part of the I-4 Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project from I-275 to the Polk County Line in Hillsborough County.
