WHAT’S ON KLINE’S MIND? Let’s hear about the great outdoors

Now that winter’s officially gone, it’s about time to get outdoors and take advantage of that warm Florida weather.

School’s coming to an end soon. Around the same time, adults will look outside and brainstorm any excuse to get out of the office. I would love to spend my days wakeboarding.

I want to give you all motivation to go outside and enjoy yourselves, no matter what you like to do.

And since we’re all interested in different things, I could use your help.

I’m looking for your tales of outdoor adventures, and if you’re qualified to give it, your advice for anyone who wants to try their hand at your preferred outdoor sport. It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as it’s done outside and presents some kind of challenge.

Are you an avid angler? Do you like to spend every moment you can in the spring and summer out on the water, catching whatever you can? I don’t care if you fish freshwater, saltwater or both: Drop me a line. I want to hear your tips and tricks for landing the big ones, your favorite spots to fish (if they’re not closely-guarded secrets) and see what you’ve caught in the past. I don’t fish as often as I used to, but I know fully well how valuable a good day on the water can be.

Is hunting more of your forte? Sure, most animals in Florida aren’t going to be in season this summer. But with more options opening up in August, maybe we can help motivate some readers who are on the fence about getting a license to go and give it a shot. If you hunt around Florida, I want to hear from you — no matter what your weapon of choice is.

Do you love watersports? Is the cable park your second home over the spring and summer? Or do you just take advantage of the nearest lake you can find whenever you have the chance? I want to know where the best spots are, hear some tips for performing tricks and anything else you think people should know about doing what you do. If you’re great at dealing with those dastardly drivers who just love to throw people off of their tubes, your advice could help many readers.

Even if none of these applies to you, I still want to hear from you if you’re out there doing something people should know about. As always, I can be reached by email at jkline@plantcityobserver.com, or you can stop by the Plant City Times & Observer’s downtown office at 110 E. Reynolds St., Monday through Friday.
